About 5,000 Girl Scouts throughout Utah sold more than 1.3 million boxes of cookies in January. Jessica Gunderson, 15, from Troop 1123 in Grantsville did her part by selling 2,050 boxes herself. This year, that was enough to earn her a recognition she has been working toward for seven years, as the third highest cookie-selling Girl Scout in Utah.

Jessica has sold more than 1,000 boxes of cookies every year since 2003. She has been the county’s top seller for the last six years. In 2006, she had her highest selling year. That year she sold a total of 2,350 boxes of cookies.

Jessica will be selling lots of cookies alongside her fellow 16 troop members who collectively sold 15, 756 boxes of cookies. You can find Girl Scout cookies throughout the next few weeks at various locations in Tooele and Grantsville.
