I can't believe that anyone would complain about the high school bands in our county like you are. These are really GOOD students who give up their warm beds and their mornings to go and practice so that they can support EVERY event that happens in our community. I am really proud of them and want them and everyone else to know that. Band members and your leaders: you guys are GREAT and my family appreciates you. What about when I go to bed at night and there is a high school football game going on and I can hear the crowd cheering and the audience screaming. I'll bet the people complaining are in the stands cheering right along with everyone else. Life is sacrifices sometimes. At least these kids are not out vandalizing, spray painting businesses, growing marijuana farms, driving under the influence, shoplifting, and I could go on and on. Shouldn't our sherrif and his department be more supportive and not say that they are going to punish the bands? What about our beautiful canyons that are being ruined by young punks who are NOT members of the band? Shouldn't we be spending our time and efforts on catching these rotten teenagers? They cost the community money and the band members are sacrificing so much. Even on teachers weekend they were out practicing and even on Saturday. Can't we all be supportive and go to bed an hour earlier and then plan to do some task the next morning when we are awakened like get up and exercise, go for a walk and maybe clean the house? Kids LOVE to get up early and watch t.v. or color or read a book or do homework before school. Remember the saying: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! Let's show our support to these young people instead of complaining. GO BAND MEMBERS AND LEADERS!!! K. DUNCAN
